Submersible is an important tool to achieve ocean exploration and development, suchas observation seabed topography, oil exploration, submarine station servicing, collecting avariety of biological and mineral samples in the ocean and so on. With space transportationtechnologies, deep-sea manned submersible technology is also a symbol of a country’scomprehensive national strength, the development of which has far-reaching strategicsignificance. Submersible design is of great significance throughout the life cycle ofsubmersible.The target of this paper is1,000-meter manned submersible. Through the informationresearch to understand the submersible design and construction process, the specificfunctions of manned submersibles are determined within device and specific design. Theprocess of submersible design uses modular design concept. Within the theory ofgeneralized modular, this design submersible integrated interface standards are set.Meanwhile the various modules of the submersible are divided in this design. On this basis,with reference of number of female-type boat and following the integrated interfacestandard, the general arrangement of the submersible is well drawn out. Then according togeneral arrangement and various structures and equipment in the submersible, the mannedsubmersible structure of the main scale, size, weight, center of gravity, buoyancy, center ofbuoyancy and stability calculation are repeatedly adjusted. With Chinese submersibles andsubmersibles system-level specification and ANSYS software, the pressure shell of thespecific size and strength and stability calculations are determined and checked. Accordingto the design requirements of the mission statement of the submersible, equipments,including ballast system, manipulator, trim control system, navigation system,etc, arecarefully selected. At the end of the paper, in order to achieve reasonable assemblysequence, genetic algorithm is used for assembly sequence optimization, with whichassembly program is to meet the constraints of feasibility and optimal shortest time.
