The study of design evaluation and design decision-making based on "Key point",it plays an important role in new product development.Many managers often still make inadequately decision because of uncertainty and complexity on the "Key point", which makes the companies lose a lot of coffers and cost. This paper analyzed the factors that impact on complex product in the stage of design evaluation and decision, combined with the design of quality management theory, and put forward to the theory and methods which uses the checklist to assist large complex product design evaluation and decision-making. First, we collect the theory of "Stage/Gate" in the product design process and the criteria on the design evaluation; explore the feasibility of applying checklist to design evaluation and decision by making through the comparative study of the elements between the design evaluation and checklist in large scale complex products. Second, we make a study of the model of design problem solving and design task decomposition in the large and complex equipment manufacturing industry product, establish four categories about the key checkpoints based on the basic tasks of the design evaluation stage, such as,the checkpoint of designing problem definition,the checkpoint of designing strategy forming, the checkpoint of designing iterative and the checkpoint of designing test modification and styling freezing, etc. At the basic of the analysis of the target in each design stage, the input and output of the dynamic design information, the design evaluation and the key point of decision making, we formulate the applicable checklist for each stage design checking, and show its specific form, list, process and the result of checklist factors. Then we make design evaluation model base on checklist according to the large and complex equipment manufacturing industry product. The methods offered in this paper can indeed assist interior designer to select during design process, help decision makers to reduce the uncertainty factors of design evaluation and decision-making in the project review, make the design more "objective" and let the results be more useful to enhance the quality of. form design.
