The Engineer of2020is a book for future engineer education concerning the ought attributes realization of future engineers. Ought attributes of future engineers, mentioned in the book, make significant senses in pre-employment engineer instruction, in-service engineer self-improvement and the formulization of an access standard to engineering organizations. The author studies on this reportand makes analysis on the ought attributes of future engineers and its realization on curriculum.Ought attributes of the future engineer can be classified into three levels, namely, essential attributes, key attributes and aspired attributes, and three dimensions, that is, knowledge, ability and characteristics. Ought attributes of future engineers shall be comprehensive and synthetical, cultivated by the general education. And the training objectives of university engineering education should be the future engineer provided with these ought attributes.The curriculum of university engineering education should realize these ought attributes of future engineers. Current curriculum of America university engineering education presents the feature of scientism, with a disciplinary structure of present-oriented and imbalance between the breadth and the depth, and with a management of four-year professional degree program. This kind of curriculum cannot be well to achieve the training objectives of university engineering education. University engineering education courses should be humanistic, with a disciplinary structure of future-oriented and a boarder perspective, with an organization of, dual-degree with five or six-year in an interdisciplinary approach, in order to realize the training objective.
