The Research On Identification-Oriented Design Of City Park In Harbin

As an important settlement of human, the environment of city was affected after the Industrial Revolution. As a spiritual and cultural expression, the city park was a space that could provide us leisure and entertainment and a place could be more close to nature and enhance the living environment.There was a variety of planning and design elements existed in the city park, such as the green space system planning, facilities planning and landscape planning, but the recognition-oriented design wasn’t on the agenda, although which belong to a detail planning included visual sense and directive property. There was also no whole professional theory could support it. Although the study about recognition-oriented design in the city park had not yet been an independent discipline in our country, the recognition-oriented design had become an indispensable part of the city park planning and design. The overall image, rational operations and coordinated development were directly influenced by the recognition-oriented design.The city park was a space environment, which included an big area, numerous facilities and complicated paths. The functions of logo-oriented system contained explaining, guiding, identifying, warning and educating, in addition, it can attract attention from some people and beautify the environment. A good park guidance system should reflect a higher level design. Every logo was relevant with other logos in the park. Whether functional or characteristic formulation, the logos were all completing their missions respectively. In accordance with certain principles or internal law, the systematic messages distributed from logos were transferred to the visitors. That was to say, no recognition-oriented system, no impact from the image elements in the city park.With the help of environmental psychology, urban imagery and environmental vision, this article had mainly analyzed the cognitive characteristics of people in the city park and the psychological needs of space being identified, then this article put forward the three levels (morphology element, spirit of place and space order) about environmental recognition. After analyzing the necessity and importance of recognition-oriented design in city park adequately, the six city parks in Harbin were selected as the tested objects (Harbin Zhaolin Park, Stalin Park, Harbin Children’s Park, Harbin amusement park, Wetlands Botanic Garden at Jihe bay and Sports park).Through the interview and survey of six city parks, the effects of five image elements (park road, border, region, node and landmark) were further clarified. The five image elements had their intrinsic connection and distinction, the other four image elements were beneficial to the landmark.In view of the integrity of identification system in the Harbin Children’s Park, the design principles and countermeasures were analyzed in detail by the connection between theory and practice, which could provide a theoretical reference and practical basis for the establishment and detail design of identification-oriented system.
