Cable crane can lift and transport load horizontally and vertically. It is often used where the hypsography is not even or it is unsuitable to use other machine. It can transport load in the air for a long distance and there is not a limit of the hypsography and building site. So it is widely used in the construction of road and railroad bridge and water conservancy to transport prefabricated parts made of reinforced concrete.By the study of the cable crane of Xieka power dam of60kN, with theory guidance of the finite element method, structural mechanics, dynamics and so on, by means of software of ANSYS, SOLID WORKS, MATLAB and SIMULINK, the geometry model and parametrical finite element model are built. Then the static analysis and dynamic analysis including modal analysis and transient analysis are carried out on the model respectively. The characteristic of component of the whole machine is done through this process. The frequency and vibration mode of the track rope is researched for different situation of whether centralize load and sag are considered. The envelope curve of track rope is also studied for different situation. For the tower, distributing law of stress and high stress area are calculated and the transient analysis is carried out to research the change of displacement and stress of some key location. Finally the load-crab system is researched to build its mechanics model and analysis its dynamic response. The static and dynamic characteristics of the main componets of fixed cable crane are researched though the case of cable crane of Xieka power dam of60kN, which provide some valuable references for the design and application of this kind of cable crane.
