The Inheritance And Representation Of The Traditional Architecture Style In Chongqing

In the long-term development of the process，Chongqing traditional architecturewhich has a long history gradually formed its own characteristics. However, with thedevelopment of social economy and the homogenization of the global economy andculture, make the regional characteristics of Chongqing architecture graduallydisappear. At the same time, it is difficult to apply traditional architectural style inmodern architecture because of the conflict for function and scale between the modernarchitecture and traditional architectural. How to inherit the traditional regionalarchitectural style in modern architecture is responsibility which every architect mustbe undertake.Based on the study of the Chongqing traditional architecture style, this paper putforword the design principles, design menthods and design procedures and explore thestrategies and ideas to inherit the Chongqing traditional architecture style. Theseconclusions must draw on the ideas of the eclecticism. With the purpose of applyingthe inherit methods in practical projects and recreating the Chongqing traditionalarchitectural style, furthermore, this thesis take the design of the main exhibition hallof the8th China (Chongqing) International Garden Expo as an example.This papermainly divided into five parts:The first part is the introduction part. This part mainly introduces the researchbackground, purpose, significance and review of relevant outcomes, etc. It is obtainedthat the design methods to inherit the traditional style through summarized thedevelopment of Chinese tradition architecture and study the status of development ofChongqing traditional architecture to inherit the traditional style. Then, define thecontents of this thesis and the theoretical reference. Finally, proposed the methodologyand framework of this study.The second part primarily solve cognitive problem. Analysis of the Chongqingtraditional architectural characteristics and summarizes the main points. Then, study ofthe Chongqing traditional building deeply from three aspects-the overall layout, streetspace and architectural form.The third part search the methods for solve the problems. Explore the strategiesand methods and put forward the design principles and apporaches which are inheritingthe Chongqing traditional architectural style. Presents the design procedures draw on the ideas of the eclecticism. At the same time, solve the contradictions how to applythe traditional form in the modern architecture.The fourth part deeply discusses the practical application to inherit the traditionaldesign methods, through analysis of the design of the main exhibition hall of the8thChina (Chongqing) International Garden Expo.The fifth part summarizes the full text. This part summarized the research resultsof the paper and shortages of the study. Expected the enormously development ofthis study in the future.
