Operation cost of air-conditioning systems as an important part of daily expensescan make up about6~8%of the hotel’s total turnover, so hotel energy saving had beenwidespread concern. Optimized temperature control based on actual usage and climaticconditions was an effective energy conservation measure, so this paper centered ontemperature control for guest room in pattern. One approach of temperature control for guest room in vacant pattern wasproposed,by which cooling capacity was controlled via the discrepancy between thedesign indexes and calculating value with early displaying the elapsed time of airtemperature dropping to suitable after the air-conditioning fully opened aiming to saveenergy with ensuring the management in higher grades.Based on theoretical analysis, simulation and experiment research were carried out.First, based on the heat gain characteristic of vacant room, the calculation formula ofthe air heat gain in vacant room and the elapsed time of the temperature dropping tosuitable were derived. Second, the calculation formula and simulation model wereverified by experiment. And then, related energy conservation measures weregeneralized. At last, concrete case was introduced in detail. The main conclusions summarized as follows:①The calculation formula of heat gain of the air in vacant room was verified byexperiment, suggesting that the radiant temperature and air temperature cancomprehensively reflect the air heat gain in vacant room. The formula of the elapsedtime of air temperature dropping to suitable after the air-conditioning fully opened wasverified, after modified which was suited for temperature control for vacant room.②In hot times the higher the vacancy rate was, the higher the energy-efficientcontribution rate, so in this period energy efficiency should be pay more attentionespecially when vacancy rates were higher.③The elapsed time would be longer with the suitable temperature set slightlyraised. The elapsed time would be decreased significantly with the suitable temperatureset increasing0.5~1℃so as to reduce energy consumed and prolong the lifespan of theequipment.④The simulation model was verified by experiment. The elapsed time would belonger with supply water temperature reduced by1~2℃, but which played a relatively minor role in non-hot times, so it was suggested that reducing the supply watertemperature by1~2℃in hot times.⑤The elapsed time can be received about166s reduction with selecting FCUaccording to loading coefficient1.1compared with1.0in hot times, and received about69s reduction in non hot times, so it was better to select model with choosing loadingcoefficient1.1~1.2in systems design aiming at this temperature control scheme.
