The Integration And Evolution Of Boshan Ceramics And Residential Architecture

The traditional residential architecture in Boshan was bred in the river of localhistory of ceramics production. The formation,development and evolution of thisspecial residential style,which is the combinations of heritage and development oflocal ceramics history，are the mixtures and precipitation of local ceramics andarchitecture culture,and also are the crystal of Boshan people’s wisdom. However, thisvaluable architectural cultural heritage has not caused enough attention. Sincereforming and opening in90decade of the past century, Boshan is graduallytransforming from an industrial city to a new tourism city, the local ceramicproduction is slowly disappearing. Coupled with the rapid development of the city, thecontradiction between local traditional settlements and modern city construction areincreasingly fierce. The inheritance and development of traditional residence inBoshan is placed in jeopardy.In this article,I made some investigation and evidence collection of Boshanarea,especially the districts of ShanTou Zhen,and did some detailed analysis of thedevelopment and evolution of ceramics culture.Then I analyzed theformation,development and evolution of this residential style,sumed up and recordedthe unique materials and construction styles,and explored the problems that might befaced in the modern city construction at the level of culture evolution.I am trying tofind a way of sustainable development that can improve Boshan’s economy withoutcreating mayhem to the local traditional residential architectures.
