Along with high voltage, high power, long distance transmission lines appearing, andtransmission lines more and more away from the city and the main traffic road, the currentground inspection of transmission lines have been unable to meet part of the inspectionrequirements, then the helicopter patrol pattern put on the agenda. The application of GIStechnology in helicopter patrol system can improve the helicopter line inspection level, makethe line overhaul more scientific and reasonable, and improve the work efficiency.As the Internet influence continues to expand, and GIS technology is widely applied toall walks of life, people have not meet the current Web GIS’s performance effect andinteractivity based on webpage technology, and the system scalability and development isalso put forward higher requirements. Web technology development promotes the RIA toappear, and it has very good interactivity and user experience, in the Internet applicationsbring revolutionary changes at the same time, but also to the WebGIS has brought newdevelopment opportunities, helicopter patrol inspection visualization system based onWebGIS is the concrete application of RIA Technology.This paper first in-depth research the key technology of WebGIS based on RIA,including Flex, ArcGIS Server, REST, ArcGIS API for Flex. Second, according to userrequirements, the principles and objectives of the system design, integrated the keytechnology, the helicopter patrol Inspection visualization system is overall design, aiming atthe data layer,presentation layer and service layer designed in detail. Among them, the datalayer design was including geographical spatial data and business data design. Service layerwas divided into GIS services and Web services, through to the GIS service design thecommunication between Flex and ArcGIS Server was implemented, thereby connecting thegeographical spatial data; business data connectivity was realized via the Web service, this study used Flash Remoting way, based on AMF communication protocol, through theFluorineFx communication gateway, established the communication between Flex and theserver of.Net. The presentation layer was by means of the design and implementation of Flexframework and ArcGIS API for Flex. Finally, according to the characteristics of the helicopterpatrols, through the Flex platform, the main function modules of the system was developed,the navigation inspection diagram browsing, query functions, the helicopter real-timepositioning, chat dialogue, historical inquiry, historical playback, defect inquiry and otherfunctions were achieved. The implementation of the system is convenient for helicopter patrolwork summary and the accumulation of experience, can improve work efficiency, and ensurethe normal and stable operation of power transmission lines.
