Accompanying with the speeding up of economic construction in China, the scale of grid is becoming larger and larger. Confronting with such huge quantity of network equipments and extreme complexity of electrical wiring, the existing means in grid management can hardly satisfy the demands of modernized grid in production and development. Thanks to its powerful capabilities in the management and sharing of spatial information, the WebGIS technology which combines Web technology and GIS technology is becoming the first choice in the construction of basic grid management information platform.The thesis takes the application of WebGIS in grid visualization management platform as the main line. It studies the development processes and key technologies of WebGIS based on ArcGIS Server. Firstly from the concept of WebGIS, the dissertation discusses the basic principle and the three implementation technologies of WebGIS. The analysis focuses on the principle of the three implementation technologies. On this basis, combining with the trend of Web technology, it studies the new technologies used in WebGIS development, such as Ajax, XML, Web Services and so on. Secondly, the dissertation makes a brief introduction of ArcGIS Server, the enterprise edition of GIS server product published by ESRI. It studies the architecture of the platform and analyzes the spatial informantion management, spatial information storing, map caching, server objects management and WebADF development framework in detail. Thirdly, the dissertation makes a general design on grid visualization management WebGIS platform. It presents physical architecture design, logical architecture design, system function design, and spatial database design. It emphasizes the spatial database design and analyzes the implementation of grid information spatial modeling, spatial information storing and spatial information accessing. At last, according to the implementation of the project, the dissertation implements the grid visualization management WebGIS platform. The implementations consists of map building and publishing, system main framework, the communication between client and server, and development of GIS business layer. The dissertation anatomizes the technological details of these implementations through specific examples. It also makes a comparison and analysis on the related technologies. On this basis, it makes tests on some system functionsNow grid visualization management WebGIS platform succeeds in the application of distribution grid network management. It has laid a foundation for distribution grid automation. It improves efficiency of power production and management level greatly. It also strongly supports information construction of the power industry.
