Ecological carrying capacity has become a hot issue in the social and economic development now, the purpose of this paper is to evaluate ecological carrying capacity of Beijing based on the current international popular ecological footprint theory.On the basis of the calculation principle of ecological footprint model, combining with the actual conditions of the resource consumption and environment pollution, index system of ecological footprint model was supplemented to perfect the ecological footprint model. Problems of environment and resource in Beijing were studied by using the perfect model, whether development of Beijing sustainable was judged and then arriving at a conclusion that the ecological deficit is on the high side. In addition, according to the variation of ecological deficit of Beijing from2006to2010, the rule that perfect model is sensitive to the water resource balance factor come to light, which highlights the importance of water resources to Beijing city and provides the basis for increasing implementation strength of water resource conservation.Based on the analysis of the calculation results of the ecological carrying capacity in Beijing, the suggestions on implementing sustainable development strategy in Beijing were put forward, which will play an important role in the future construction of livable cosmopolitan cities.This study will have a certain theoretical guidance and practical significance of the development of Beijing area. |
