Contrastive Study On Relationship Between Economic Development And Ecological Environment Northwest Territory

Human survival and development are dependent on the naturalenvironment, especially in the northwest region of the fragile ecologicalenvironment. In particular, with the crucial development of China’sWestern Expansion, we should know that how to look at the relationshipbetween the economy and the environment, how to look at the ecologicaloccupancy, these are definitely very valuable research topics ineconomics. Since Willian Rees proposed the concept of the ecologicalfootprint, a many scholars began to make a lot of studies.Untilnow,theoretical and empirical aspects have received great breakthroughs.In recent years, there are many scholars to introduce this system to theempirical analysis of China.Northwestern provinces (Shaanxi Province, Gansu Province,Qinghai Province, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Xinjiang UygurAutonomous Region) as underdeveloped areas, as well as ecologicallyfragile zone,have similar enclosure,similar enviroment,similar resourcesand similar eclogy, the relationship between ecology and economy hasalso become a hot topic widely. How to choose the appropriate model ofeconomic development to the maximum development of the economy onthe basis of the minimum damage to the ecological environment?It isfocused by sustainable development,and is one of the basic requirementsof the Sustainable development concept. This article refers to the analysis method of Ecological Footprint tostudy the relationship between economic development and EcologicalFootprint of the northwestern provinces. Firstly, on the basis of previousscholars,I calculate the Ecological Footprint value in the past15years ofthe northwestern provinces. Secondly, I analyze the each EcologicalFootprint,tatal Ecological Footprint and economic growth of theprovinces by Descriptive statistical analysis methodand.Thirdly,according to the modern econometric measurement methods,Iestablish a panel data model,build economic growth and EcologicalFootprint model,use unit root test, cointegration test and Grangercausality test to examine short-term and long-term cointegrationrelationship among these variables.Then the model is uesed F-statistic testand the Hausman test to determine the form of the model test, finally Iuse the OLS regression to draw the relationship between the provincesEcological Footprint and economic growth using a random effects model.The article’s main conclusions include: First,in the past15years,theeconomy of each province has substantial growth, while the totalEcological Footprint has different degrees of growth, and each provincehas its own key development section.Second, the northwestern provinceshas weaked by water, woodland and road construction,and its EcologicalFootprint is at a low value. Third, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region’seconomic growth change the total ecological footprint obviously,on the other hand,Qinghai Province’s economic growth change the totalecological footprint un-obviously,so I hope to seek economic structure ofQinghai Province to develop a sustainable economy.According to the analysis results, I raise advises hoping topromoting the coordinated development between the economy and theenvironment.
