Research On The Emotion Design About Indoor Furniture Of Small Dwelling-size Housing

As the large population in China, housing price is still high, whichmakes few people can afford the big house. As a result, the consumers ofchoosing the small dwelling-size housing are increasing. For the modernpeople, the tremendous material progress makes them begin to focus moreon the spiritual need, and their hard working and great live pressure haveexpanded the desire for the emotional comforts. How the design of Indoorfurniture,which is essential for small dwelling-size housing, can meet theoccupants’ psychological and emotional need and create a practical andcomfortable environment, that is an urgent problem need to be solved. Thestudy on this subject is to provide a way for indoor furniture design that canmeet the emotional needs of the people living in the small dwelling-sizehousing－that is the emotion design based on distinctive forms and shapesand humorous human-computer interaction, and this article is studying onthis basis.The main content of this paper has four parts. Part I:discuss thedefinition of the emotional design, from which analyses the origin of theemotional design theory and distinguishing and contrasting its relateddesign theory, thereby to make sure the scope and objectives of the study.Part II: present the concepts of small dwelling-size housing and the indoorfurniture, and discuss the necessity of making the emotional design to theindoor furniture of small dwelling-size housing from social environment,economy and consumer attitudes. Part III: analyse the object of the indoorfurniture of small dwelling-size housing, and particularly lucubrate the usergroups from some aspects such as psychological and behavioralcharacteristics, lifestyle, and emotional performance. Part IV: divide the manifestations of the emotional design through layer-by-layer studying andsystem design methods, and obtain the three methods and the threeprinciples of the emotional design by gradually decomposing the designelements, furthermore, envisaging and prospecting its developmental tend.Finally, the article has conducted the practice and confirmation on thebasis of the theoretical research above in practical works. With studying onthe emotion design about indoor furniture of small dwelling-size housing, itcomes out of an inevitable choice the emotion design has come to be, andit contribute to a new perspective to discover and view the emotionaldesign in the products’ application as well. I hope the study theories andthe design achievements can guide and help us in the emotion design aboutindoor furniture of small dwelling-size housing or about other products.
