Urban lake, which is one of the areas with the most dynamic part of the city aswell as the strongest zone between human being and narure, is the core of urbanecosystem. At present, with the rapid development of economy and scoiety, theenvironmental problems appear and occur continuously, such as eutrophication, waterpollution, destruction of water-environment ecological system and so on, which hasalready seriously affected the life and production of the local people. At the same time,the management of water environment information is still relatively backward. So, itis an important task for urban lake protection to strengthen management and establishan advanced, effective, and practical water environment management system.With the rapid development of GIS (Geographic Information System) technology,a thoroughly new approach will be introduced to the field of the management of waterenvironment information. Taking Dongchang Lake in Liaocheng City as a researchsample, in this paper, the basic database of water environment for the lake isestablished base on the data of geographic form of the lake, space information andmonitoring information of water quality, etc. Through using the secondarydevelopment technique of GIS, the program laungue of VB.NET and ComGIS ofArcGIS Engine9.2, applying the Microsoft Access2003background databasemanagement system, integrating the water quality appraisal models, a GIS-basedwater environment information management system is constructed.This research is on the basis of the actual requirement of the management ofwater environment in Dongchang Lake, the main study results of thesis were asfollows: Base on the data of measure and experiment in Dongchang Lake (2009untilnow), A basis database system of water quality is set up in order to manage the Dailywater quality monitoring data. The system also realizes the functions of experimentaldata statistics and analysis for the users. Accoding to the actual situation of Dongchang Lake, we select the proper evaluation model of water quality andeutrophication and integrate it with the software, So the monitoring data can beevaluated timely and dynamically. The visualized system of water environmentmonitoring information is developed by using VB.NET and ArcGIS Enginecomponents. We can make full use of GIS technology in spatial data processing,analysis, display and other functions, and carry out most of the operation functions ofGIS software, such as reduction, amplification, attribute query, point, line andpalne-based-editing etc. The simulated results of MIKE21is explained and displayedto users by the system interfaces. Furthermore, the system is convenient for managersto be extended and used, which has friendly user interface and user help.After the system is finished, it has been tested by using the water monitoring dataof Dongchang Lake in different periods, and realizes the functions of efficient reading,rapid analysis, map display, etc. The results show that the water environmentinformation management system runs well and has universal properties, it can providescientific and efficient information for water environment managers and relativedepartments.
