| Guangxi is a place with plenty of minority nationalities. The communication of each minority nationalities enhance the culture exchange in the long history. By absorbing other minority nationalities’s excellent culture, a special Guangxi-featured was formed during long time exchange, in which construction and clothes culture took the lead while furniture culture was left behind.Furniture culture has close relationship with construction and clothes culture. Contruction is the father of furniture that influence each other and bear some kind of likeness in structure. Clothes culture also tightly relates to the furniture culture that they share the same culture heritage and exchange decoration element with each other. By study of construction and clothes culture that highlighted in Guangxi minority nationalities, the essence was captured to implement in furniture design, which can enhance the development of Guangxi minority nationalities furniture culture.Based on preceding study of others, combining with abundance of pictures, the Guangxi minority nationality’s traditional construction such as stilt style residence, drum-tower and wind-rain bridge was studied in this article, and construction structure, construction decoration unit and element was analysed and classified; in the part of clothes, the connotation of the clothes culture, the motif picture, picture structure and color aesthetic was analysed and discussed, and the influence of Guangxi minority nationalities construction culture and clothes culture to furniture design was also discussed. Finally, based on the research of Guangxi minority adornment elements in modern design, combining with modern furniture design concept, integrating enlightenment of construction and clothes culture to nationalities’furniture design, as a carrier with furniture design series scheme, throught which hopefully the Guangxi minority nationalities culture, Guangxi-style furniture development can be enhanced. |
