After20years of sustainable and stable development, the Chinese furniture industry hasundertaken the transition from traditional handicraft workshops to rapidly developing modernmanufacturing. During the period of rapid development, furniture enterprises which runindependent operation mode are facing new challenges. Some of the enterprises who takecultural value as the core philosophy of the brand have difficulty to practically establish thecultural meaning that the furniture tries to represent. Furthermore, they could hardly meetconsumers' demands and manipulate systematic and effective designs due to the lack of designabilities.The thesis contains following four parts:1. Explain the definition and meaning of the culture of the furniture brands, and theimportance to furniture manufacturers, generalizing the suitable enterprises that builds brandculture. Furthermore, testify the positive approaches to the adoption of the culture of furniturebrands.2. Through the research of the consumer market, classify costumer groups, and define thepotential consumers that prefer to furniture brands with cultural awareness. Combined withrelated questionnaires, discuss the consumption psychology and the potential demands thatinspire design ideas.3. Investigate in great details the design process and methods of contemporary Chinesestyle furniture.4. In the case of the furniture products of a furniture brand in the study, specify theviability and prospects of the design ideas that the culture of furniture brands is pursuing.
