In the book of "Natural reasons-ecological Marxism", James O’Connor linkedthe nature and historical materialism, he thought theory of Marxism had the existenceof the so-called "theory of empty field", according to the world’s deterioratingecological problems; he explored its inherent theoretical roots. He re-constructed theconcept of nature, tried to give the natural, historical and cultural connotations,re-constructed the concept of natural and cultural transformation that had long beenthe traditional theory of productive forces and production relations, and re-interpretedrelations of the natural culture, social and labor, and reconstructed historicalmaterialism. He also studied the possibility of an ideal system of ecological Marxism-the ecology of socialism and proposed his own theories. James O’Connor, as arepresentative figure of today’s ecological Marxism theory, his many ideas in hisworks are manifestations of human history and natural history."Natural reason" is acollection of his views and ideas, analyzing the contents of the book, producing amore profound understanding on the O’Connor’s ecology of Marxist thinking on thestatus and prospects of the point of view of Ecological Marxism. Based on review ofpast history O’Connor in his book "natural reason" elaborated on the relationshipbetween nature, capitalism, and socialism, briefly sketched out the ideal future of thehuman relationship with nature, with sustainable development, he thoughtcapitalism can not reconcile; he thought socialism is the future of the human ideal; hethought about the prospect of ecological Marxism; he thought the global economicsystem needs to change; in the end he thought about the ecological school of Marxism;in his book of "natural reason" O’Connor answered the above problems. O’Connor, theecological significance of the study of Marxism: he changed the distorted relationshipof man and nature, tried to find a win-win road and explore the future of ecological Marxism direction, based on the inadequacies of the O’Connor ecological thought,which provide us a creation of more comprehensive ecological Marxism thinking.
