Artificial plant communities as the carrier and form of the plant landscape are not only the basis ofcampus green space system, but also the important symbol of constructing ecological campus. Themodern scientific research shows that artificial plant communities in dynamic changes of the season andtheir own volatile gases, spatial relationships and the forming beauty of artistic conception, etc all canrise the effects on keeping fitness, prolonging life. Good plant community landscape can provide amutual communication platform, relieve the pressures of study and worry, eliminate the visual fatigue,improve the photopic durability, which is very important for a university with tens of thousands ofstudents. This paper taking17sample plots of relatively more people, longer-time formation plantcommunities at East lake campus of Zhejiang Agriculture and Forestry University as the researchobjects, investigated the community species composition, structure features and species diversity, etc.and based on this, from human body’s visual perception and sense of space, researched thepsychological and physical health care effects of plant communities have to human body. At the sametime, selecting seven typical sample plots at East lake campus as observation objects, carried out theresearch of air anion concentration, climate comfort, and air quality index change of single particle inthe plots, and comprehensively evaluated the East lake campus artificial plant communities by AirHealth Index (AHI). Through researches some preliminary conclusions were as below:1.At East lake campus, the main vegetation type of artificial community is evergreen anddeciduous broad-leaved mixed type, and the basic structure is tree, shrub, grass compound community.The richness and higher diversity index of species embody the certain degree of ecology.2. East lake campus artificial plant communities have more comprehensive effects of psychologicaland physical health to human body on the aspects of visual perception, plant space. But theconfiguration of plant community to different fields, applicable people are inadequate. Suggestions cansimulate the Hangzhou landscape architecture unique natural communities. According to differentenvironment and plant ecological habits, multi-level with mixed planting trees, shrubs, vines, lawns andground covers, fully showing form, color and dynamic beauty of plant and creating a rich and colorfulartificial plant communities, in order to promote the physical and mental health of students and teachers. 3. East lake campus artificial plant communities increase air care index (AHI) significantly higherthan those of compared (Xiasha Higher Education Park Green Space), the level is "medium". And thedouble layer structure of plant community improves the index. The Air Health Index (AHI) changesyearly in order is the highest in the fall, second in the summer, third in the winter.
