The Study On The Application Of Lean Management To Port Of Zhuhai

Great numbers of ports standing in periphery of Ports of Zhuhai makes the competition become rougher. If we want to walk out of the road of an efficient development, except for taking full advantage of superiority in the port resource to accelerate infrastructure construction and promote international cooperation business, we must also improve working efficiency, decrease operation cost and enhance the service quality. That means we have to forge core competitiveness of Port of Zhuhai through modern management. Training lean management concept comprehensively and build lean logistics system can be a solution for the management of Port of Zhuhai to transform from tradition to modernization.Herein, we conduct research on the lean management of the terminal of Port of Zhuhai Holding Group Co. Ltd.We start with the discuss of the theory of lean management. We try to express the concept and internal significance, emergence and development of lean production. Based on this concept, we make some discussion about the internal significance of lean thinking and meanwhile, introduce the theory of lean logistics. Furthermore, we analyze the realistic significance for port logistics enterprises to carry out the theory.Secondly, we commence on some study on the status of the development of the logistics industry of Pearl River Delta ports. With this foundation, we analyze the opportunities and challenges in the face of Port of Zhuhai. We propose that we have to speed up the innovation of enterprises management and improve the management advanced level. Moreover, we propose the necessity of the appliance of the theory of lean management.At the same time, combined with the present situation of operation and management of Port of Zhuhai, we demonstrate the working ideas and basic methods for Port of Zhuhai to carry out lean management. Ulteriorly, we come up with methods for practicing the lean idea in the management of Port of Zhuhai, in order to optimize the business management. In the section of the case study, some examples of introduction of lean practice activities are discussed in detail. We try to give some direction to those enterprises with upcoming lean changing, especially those port logistics enterprises with these examples.
