| Mature knowledge systems of modern project management have been founded. The applied areas of project management are continuously extended. The general survey project of urban management components is a relatively new surveying and mapping project, which engages in comparatively large-scale investment and covers a wide scope of fields. It is so in need of project management methods to reinforce and standardize the general survey project management.The main researches and practices included in this thesis are:(1) The main knowledge systems of project management are introduced and compared. They coincide well in the definition and understanding of project, in the concept of the project life cycle and techniques used in project management, and also coincide well in the process division of the project management.(2) The knowledge systems and framework applied to the general survey project of urban management components are put forward. We first probed into the features of general survey project and features of its project management, then, from the point of view of modern project management, the ten knowledge area and five basic process groups that are typical to all general survey project of urban management components are set forth and in-depth discussions.(3) Case study. The above project management system of the general survey project and its application framework are applied to the general survey project in Haishu district of Ningbo. The content, techniques and methods included or used in this case are described and analyzed. The management system gave us fairly good results in this case.Since then, this project management system are also applied to the other six general survey projects, and all this practices prove the project management system works well. The writer expects that the research and practice here will provide reference or useful guidance for general survey project management, and even for surveying and mapping project management. |
