In the world today, the international and domestic environment among enterprises have became increasingly competitive, general environment is very unstable and unpredictable. How to improve an enterprise's core competitiveness edge, maximize customers'satisfaction and achieve sustainable competitive advantage are important tasks to focus. For every enterprise, to achieve sustainable competitive advantage means continuously"technology innovation"and"management innovation". Innovation and introduce high technology new product to meet market demand are key problems for achieving long-term growth of all Chinese enterprises. Hence, to establish a scientific customer-oriented new product research and development system for expanding market share in the most quickest and cost effective way is a long-term critical solution for those enterprises.This paper conducts research on present situation of enterprise in new product development, with an aim to find out the problems and causes during the course of the new product research and development though research and analysis, and gives suggestions on new product development improvement with modern scientific management methods and techniques.This paper mainly focuses on summarizing the basic concepts, meaning and functions of innovation; the theories of new product development ; and analyses the new acrylic fiber product development models in both China and overseas, etc.. Lastly, the paper conducts research and analysis based on the new product research and development system of Jilin Qifeng Chemcial Fiber Co.,Ltd.. Hence, this paper combines theories with practical examples, with an aim to motivate and improve new product research and development function of Jilin Qifeng Chemcial Fiber Co., Ltd..
