With drastic enterprise competition and rapid development for project-oriented in enterprise internal tasks, multi-project has been more and more applied to enterprise each stage, including to field in new product development. Multi-project management has become an important technical target for enterprise management and development. Some traditional single project management theory and method, such as critical path, neglects the uncertain factor impact on plan and schedule, so they couldn't meet the requirement for multi-project management practice. Especially in R&D project, resource contention in multi-project would delay the project schedule even if plenty of resource was invested. The critical chain considers the uncertain factors such as human factor and resource constraint. It could avoid the adverse impact from uncertain factor, reduce the resource contention effectively and ensure the whole multi-projects schedule by usinging the tasks buffer, but setting up project buffer, feeding buffer and resource buffer etc. This thesis reaches a conclusion in multi-project R&D circumstance has the uncertainty and special need for resource feeding via analyzing R&D project feature. And the critical chain is introduced into multi-project management, also under the limited resource the plan model for R&D multi-project management is established and the algorithm is stated in detail. Then, combine R&D project feature with the model and apply it into the practical work of project case. Finally, the algorithm result is simulated and analyzed by the software Crystal Ball. A possible and effective multi-project management method based on current company circumstances is therefore established.
