Evaluation Of The Technological Competitiveness Of Central Regional Cities

For the purpose to promote the technological competitiveness of central regionalcities and drive comprehensive development of regional economy, society andenvironment, this paper lucubrates the present research at home and abroad, thenevaluates current situation, develepmet trend, and the advantages and disadvantages ofthe central cities' technological competitiveness. The main research methods areliterature research method, statistical method, empirical research method andcomparision.Firstly, this paper analyses the present situation of the domestic and foreignresearch, defines the content of central regional cities and city's technologicalcompetitiveness, shows region differentiate method which divides China into eightregions, and then chooses the central cities of each rigion.Secondly, constructing index system of the technological competitiveness ofcentral regional cities and selecting evaluation methods. Based on the theory of bothcentral regional city and technological competitiveness, This article draws lessons fromthe domestic and foreign relevant research results, after the appropriate adjustments,constructs the index system. This article uses Projection Pursuit Classification (PPC) asevaluation method, not only overcomes the pitfalls of traditional data analysis method,but also has the characteristics of stability and anti-jamming, In the environment,agriculture, water conservancy and other complex systems areas PPC has got successfulapplications.Thirdly, studing the technological competitiveness of central regional cities forempirical research. This paper selects seven regions of the21Center City, and uses the16index data between2009and2005as the research object, then compares theempirical results for the overall situation and the advantages and disadvantages. In orderto further study the actual strength of technology which influences on the regionaleconomy, this paper makes a reserch about the coordinating development between central city's actual technological strength and regional economy.In the view of the above empirical results, the paper discusses the existingproblems of central regional cities' technology development, and puts forwardcorresponding countermeasures and Suggestions. Finally the conclusions draw in thispaper.
