Learning organization is the best organization form of enterprise in age of the knowledge economy. Establishing a learning organization is the most effective way to form the core competence of enterprises. The most successful companies in the 21st century will be the "learning organization", Because the only sustainable competitive advantage is the ability to learn than your competitors faster in the future.Learning is a basic function of the organization and a corporation can innovate now and then only when it becomes a learning organization, then it can meet an emergency from the market quickly, thus it can implement ultimately aim to meet the satisfactory of clients, employees, enterprise, investors and society.With the development of national energy policy changes and the deepening of the power system, the competition among the various power plants will become more obvious and intense. In the new condition, the factory which has the core capability can get deport competitive advantage. Competition among power companies is essentially the core competitiveness of the long-term battle, in order to win the competition, would require power companies to establish and nurture the learning core competence. The author illustrated by the example of yangzonghai power generation company and carry out research of the learning core competence by combining the theory of learning organization and core competence with practice. In this paper, firstly expounds the research background.The second chapter describes the concept and theory of learning organization and core competence. In the third chapter, the author combines the learning organization and the theory of core competence and analyzes the situation of practice. The fourth chapter analyzes the status of Yangzonghai power company. In the fifth chapter, describes the identification of the company's core competence. At last, the author expounds how to build and nurture the learning core competence.
