With the development of productivity, we are formally entering information society now after human beings had gone through agriculture society and industrial society. Nowadays the society is full of all kinds of information, which are disseminated, saved, analysed and processed. Officially because of these that we can achieve a colourful world of information. Information, material and energy are the three most important resources which are also indispensable resources for the subsistence and development of the mankind.The Coming of the Information Age, people can reap plenty of benefits and convenience of social development. But at the same time people also come across some difficulties. One of the most prominent issue is that the present informationization service level have failed to keep pace with the step of times development. That is because the Information Age is keepping developing so quickly, so that the scale of information is bigger and bigger and the coverage is becoming more and more widely. That is why we urgently need a new mode of information management, and it can provide information services easily, fast and effectively. The emergence of Semantic Web provides us with a perfect solution for the problem.Ontology is the basis of the Semantic Web, so the research of ontology has already been a hot spot of the field of computer science.This paper is focused on two aspects of research:domain ontology modeling and mapping. Modeling of domain ontology is a structure-formed description to domain knowledge.It offers a shareable and common understanding mechanism for the interactive information between computers and users. Mapping of domain ontology is to find a connection between different domain ontologies to achieve knowledge sharing and interactive under distributed environment. Centrally around these two aspects, the paper mainly carries out the following tasks:First, I do my best to obtain theoretical knowledge of ontology. At the same time, I obtain a number of good results and useful conclusions by comparing and analyzing these modelling methods, which are popular at home and abroad. Base on these works, the structural analysis methods for the construction of domain ontology is put forward.Second, theory is combined with practice.According to the proposed method, using the relation theories knowledge, a domain ontology is built regarding enterprise organization. It is to verify the effect of this approach.Third, the problems of ontology mapping are studied and discussed. An improved similarity model and a mapping process are put forward, which offer an efficient solution to the heterogeneous problem between different ontologies.Finally, the experiment of ontology mapping is designed in order to verify feasibility of the mapping process. At the same time, by comparing the experimental data obtained with those of other ways, some correlative conclusions are obtained.
