The goal of semantic Web is to make Web data machine readable. The purpose of Semantic NAtive Xml database(SNAX) System is to build up a platform for researching on various theories, technologies and methodologies of semantic Web. Ontology mapping is a crucial part of SNAX for ontology query and integration. The thesis focuses on research on these issues.Firstly, the purposes of researching and developing SNAX and backdrop of semantic Web research domain have been introduced. Because distribution is a feature of Web, which makes different organizations and individuals have their own ontologies to describe data contents, ontologies are heterogeneous. Therefore, similarity-computation based ontology mapping finding approach has been put forward in this thesis.Secondly, according to different concepts and roles in ontology, corresponding similarity computation approach has been used. For concept, similarity computation is done based on description of name, role, structure and instance. For role, similarity computation is done mainly based on match of name, domain and range respectively.Finally, based on the research above, ontology mapping sub-system SNAXMapping has been designed and implemented. Moreover, the mapping effective of the system has been tested through using benchmarks, ontology set offered by OAEI. The precision, recall, and F-measure values have been statistically analyzed. The results show that our approaches are comparatively good.
