With the improvement and progress of agricultural production technology, the process of agricultural production also tends to be more informationized and automated. Computer technology and automation have played a powerful role in the progress of agricultural production technology. In modern time, the remote monitoring of agricultural information has become a hot issue in the research process of agricultural information and automation.Aiming at farmland information collection system's actual requirements, the main research of the thesis is about the farmland information collection system based on embedded platform, focusing on the collection and transmission about temperature, humidity and video, and client GUI designing. Using S3C2440ARM9microprocessor which produced by Samsung Corporation as the hardware platform, using embedded Linux as the software platform. Using C/S structure with special client software in system design, separating the embedded data collection and PC-client monitoring software, using TCP Protocol transmits the data; the user can operate the monitoring system by the client software.At the beginning of this thesis, introducing the current research status of remote monitoring technology in the process of agricultural production and putting forward the soft and hard ware general frame of embedded farmland information collection system; analyzing how to build the data collection terminal soft and hard ware platform. About the hardware according to the needs of data collection chooses camera and temperature and humidity sensor; in the software design process, the software development environment construct of embedded system is firstly finished, including:the establishment of cross development environment, U-Boot transplantation, cutting and transplantation embedded Linux2.6kernel, compling BusyBox, building the file system, adding V4L2support to the file system, adding USB camera driver support, developing and compling the DHT11temperature and humidity sensor driver,building the file system which contains Qt/E, etc. On this basis, discussing the DHT11collection principle and image collection principle based on V4L2, after that, using Qt/E multi-thread technology to realize the collection of temperature and humidity and image; Using Qt Socket transmits the temperature, humidity and image based on the TCP protocol. On the client-side using Qt develops the romote monitoring software to receive the data which sent by the embedded data collection terminal.Finally, the thesis makes a test to the entire system, gives the results, analyses the deficiencies of this system and prospects how to improve the system in the future. The test proves that the system can accomplish the basic functions of remote monitoring system.
