Direct Digital Synthesizer (DDS), as same as Digital Signal Processing (DSP),is an extremely important Digital technology. DDS is English abbreviations of Direct Digital Synthesizer. It is usually to go through the digital time conversion signal by performing a digital-to-analog converter for generating sine wave. Direct digital frequency synthesizer running on the device is based on Digital, so it can transform among output frequency, sine wave frequency decomposition, wide frequency spectrum. Take the traditional frequency synthesizer in comparison, DDS has the advantages of low cost, low power consumption, high resolution and rapid switching time and many other advantages. It is widely used in telecommunication and electronic equipment and other fields.DDC is a realization of the key technology in digital equipment.The first part of this article introduces the direct digital frequency synthesizer DDS situation at home and abroad, the background and the design objectives. The second part firstly introduces some basic knowledge of the field programmable gate array, including the basic structure of FPGA, features, programming technology and development process. And it makes simple introduction of the development of FPGA language (VHDL and VerilogHDL) and the development of tools. The third part analyzes the direct digital frequency synthesizer DDS the basic structure and working principle.And it gets zhe method of achieving. This part is key that focuse on how to solve the bottleneck problem of the limitation of the ROM. The fourth part introduces several DDS components. And it designs and synthesis for the phase accumulator module, pulse generating module, ROM module and DDS lookup table top module through the Verilog HDL hardware description language. The fifth part simulate, test and verify DDS direct digital frequency synthesizer by using the Quartus II.Finally, through the design of direct numerical simulation test DDS frequency synthesizer, realized the direct digital frequency synthesizer DDS function.Proved the FPGA as the carrier of DDS development costs low power,consumption is low, resolution is high and the conversion time quick, etc. The paper finally the design work are summarized, and the prospect of further. Use the FPGA realizing DDS application, the purpose of strong superior performance, and to modern electronic communication system is the use of high value.Figure15table1reference47...
