The Research Of IPTV Set-top Box System

The development of the economic society changes day by day, and the traditional television programs can not satisfy the need of huge number of consumers. Watching high definition video by Internet becomes a mission-critical application for people. IPTV has the extremely bright characteristic, and it may realize the substantive interaction between the media tender and the media consumers. It can act according to the users' choice,and these dispositions can realize many kinds of multimedia service function, including digital television program, visible IP telephone, Internet browsing, receiving and dispatching email as well as many kinds of on-line information consultant entertainment, education and commercial function.This paper studies the related theory and the IPTV set-top box, and this paper involves the key technology and protocol standards. This paper includes a ST-7109platform and embedded Linux, and can realize embedded terminal of the play on the basis of the streaming media. In this paper the configuration is as follows:the basic platform uses ST-7109and embedded Linux kernel; and the streaming media transfer protocol complies with the RTP/RTCP agreement.And this paper mainly presents the ST7109internal module resources and peripheral interface circuit structure. Research of thorough principle takes it as a core complete source of hardware circuit design. The study of the set top box around the software includes module function, its real-time operating system Linux and detailed analysis of the bootloader principle. At the same time the detailed design of audio, video process and the menu design are also studied. Finally, the hardware parts, the whole of the set top box system commissioning, performance testing and the software optimization are also completed.
