User-generated Content, which also be called UGC, is becoming more and morepopular with the rise of Web2.0. It is because the main features of Web2.0ispersonalization. UGC embodies the creative work of the users. It is a producing patternwhich totally different from "transfer produce". The news information which made by usercould be an effective supplement to traditonal media, and users can supply an original viewto traditonal media. Along with the improvement of the application and the influence ofUGC in New Media domain, many traditional media began to realize the important ofUGC, that is why UGC has been introduced into the process of news production of sometraditonal media.And meanwhile, UGC also brings an extension in the field of interaction and socialinteraction to the traditional media, which was in transformation. The once contentproducer is evolving in the direction of becoming an "Information Integrated Platform"and "Social Interaction Platform", through sincerely and effective communication. Howabout the Television media? Do they realize the importance of UGC?This thesis takes European and American Television media Web sites for an exampleto make a brief introduction of the history of their use of UGC during the news production.Then focuses on "iReport", which is the UGC editions of CNN.com. And this thesis is alsofrom media, audience and transmission process, to analyze the changes of traditonal mediaafter UGC introducted. The problems of UGC introduced is also be discussed. Finally, thisthesis makes a summary of the experience of iReport to the Television media Web sites inChina.
