The Research Of Personal Digital Library

In recent years, as the rapid increase of network digital resources and the progress of modern information technology, the personal digital library is rapidly development.lt has the broad application prospect, on the one hand, it is the outspread of individualized service of public digital library;on the other hand, it is is an effective tool for information management. At present, the research journal articles of personal digital library has quite a few, However, through the investigation we found that there are still many problems worth further study.First of all, on the basis of existing research results, this paper described its background, concept and characteristics systematically, compared two main modes of personal digital library, summed up their advantages and disadvantages, and put forward that the combination of the two is the main mode in the future. Secondly, the paper analyzed the necessity of the construction of a personal digital library, besides, the principle, steps, technology and method for establishing a personal digital library are also described.This paper argued that, the ultimate goal of information management is to bring its maximum value. However, the value of information is to sharing, sharing is the only way to bring its greatest value, which is happens to be the purpose of personal knowledge management. So, it is not enough to limit the function of personal digital library to information resources management, and it should ascend to the level of personal knowledge management. Therefore, from the personal knowledge management point of view, this article gave empirical analysis of the "CNKI-PDL" and "360doc personal library" on the fifth chapter, expounded how to use the personal digital library in the scientific research, tried to let more people know it, and use it to create more social value.Finally, this paper gave the development prospect of personal digital library, considered that the personal digital library will spread to all walks of life as a tool for personal knowledge management, and pointed out that the contradiction between sharing and protect privacy of needs further research.
