With the development of the information technology, the main objectives of software design are loosely coupled and software reused. The service-oriented architecture (SOA) is becoming the enterprise application integration dominant direction, and enterprise service bus (ESB) has become a mainstream technology to achieve this goal.ESB is not only integrate new system technology, but also the best way to integrate and reuse legacy systems; besides, ESB is not only the basis of the information sharing, but also is the technical support for the functions sharing, as the same time it can be an effective solution of "islands of information" problem. But there has not a viable design solution make ordinary company to realize fast data sharing and transformation, functional integration and reuse. The main subject of this thesis proposes a universal ESB-based enterprise application integration solution to quickly realize the sharing and exchanging of information and function integration and reuse.Firstly, enterprise application integration were described in details and compared the advantages and disadvantages of the traditional enterprise application integration methods and described the basic concept of SOA and some related concepts of ESB. According to application advantage of ESB in SOA architecture, an integration scheme was selected based on the ESB. And it designs a three layers enterprise application integration oriented to small and middle enterprises, which is based on ESB and uses the BEA's ALSB to realize ESB service integration layer, on the basis of the analysis of existing SOA reference architecture. Finally, this architecture applied to the original traffic information service system architecture transformation.Traffic information service system based on ESB through the simple standard adapters and interfaces, was used to completing the coarse-grained service calling in the various business processes, which was good to meet the integration requirements of heterogeneous environments. Results showed that facing the disadvantages of expansion and maintenance difficulties and low performance, the cross-regional traffic information system was overcome by using this architecture. It also performed superiority on increasing the access of new regional traffic information system and process reengineering and so on.
