Since twenty-first century, logistics as a new service industry has the rapid development as China's sustained and rapid economic and sociology development. Followed, logistics-related issues has also attracted wide attention, one of the most important is the application of modern logistics technology. As one of the four things to develop of a carriage, wireless sensor network (WSN) has become more and more popular in various industries, especially in logistics. Research on the modes of the application of WSN in the field of logistics will have a positive effect in improving the level of engineering.There are three common applications of WSN in logistics, such as the monitoring of goods in transit, storage environmental monitoring, monitoring of moving objects. In these monitoring, WSN nodes adopt different key technologies for its state of motion. In the monitoring of goods in transit, WSN nodes are relatively static in reference to the monitoring object; in the storage environment monitoring, WSN nodes are completely stationary in reference to monitoring objects; in the monitoring of moving objects, WSN nodes are relative motion of in reference to monitoring the objects.However, the literature and research of foreign and domestic have only researched wireless sensor network in the specific application in the logistics, there is no systematic classification research on the application modes of wireless sensor network in logistics. Therefore, the application modes of wireless sensor network need in-depth study. This is very important for building a reasonable network structure, deploying of WSN nodes, and further improving the effectiveness and reliability of communication.The research in this paper does not only study the logistics environment in different specific applications of WSN, but also define 4 application modes included static model, dynamic model, relative static model and mixed model in reference of state of motion between the nodes and monitoring objects, and analysis the different of the key technical in different modes, especially do a detailed study for storage monitoring of the static mode, and design a warehouse monitoring system. The results of this paper will provide standards and references for the application of the WSN in logistics, and provide workable solutions for the application of the WSN in logistics.
