"Urban Heat Island Effect"(UHI) is a kind of phenomenon to describe a metropolitan area which is warmer than its surrounding natural environment in three-dimensional model under the temperature field, thus to be as if an island. It is found from lots of domestic and foreign results that UHI effect exists in all cities. In 2008, Sichuan Environmental Protection Bureau (the current Sichuan Environmental Protection Department) launched a project to research the dynamic characteristics of UHI in Sichuan by satellite remote sensing technology.This research related to the thesis was conducted under the conditions above. The paper makes researches on the processing platform for satellite remote sensing data of UHI by taking TM / ETM +, ASTER and AVHRR as the main remote sensing data source.The thesis mainly includes following contents:1. The thesis investigates the specifications, features and data formats of selected satellite sensor(such as NOAA/AVHRR,TERRA/ASTER,Landsat/TM,ETM+ and CBERS/CCD), and proposes the specific requirements on software development.2. To analyze the research situation on domestic and international UHI remote sensing in this article, and designs software's functions and processes based on the research on determined UHI monitoring methods.3. The thesis investigates the advantages of mainstream remote sensing image processing software in general, and establish the ENVI / IDL for the direction of the secondary development technical based on master the secondary development technology by ENVI,4. Designes the algorithms to remove noise point of satellite data, according to requirements on application, and achieves its function application by C # programming.5. The thesis achieves the main functions of processing platform of UHI satellite remote sensing data, based on IDL and ENVI platform, including: data read-in and output, data scaling, thermal infrared inversion, reflectivity computation, geographic projection, vegetation index computation, temperature field computation, as well as thermal landscape computation. It is available to achieve dynamic integration between the various functions and process standardization by the rational design, thus to develop the products expressing UHI features finally.Finally, the thesis achieves its expected research targets, and completes the research and development on processing platform of the UHI satellite remote sensing data.
