Abstract/Summary:
With the continuous progress of science and technology, the flexible manufacturing systems (FMS) have become a major production model of the modern manufacturing. Due to its late starting and less research institutions, our country is in urgent need of such professionals in the field. Moreover, domestic universities are general lack of advanced experiment equipments in this field, and there is a great disparity between personnel training and the actual market demand. To solve this problem, we designed a small low-cost teaching-oriented FMS control system.The control system, based on PLC and PROFIBUS technology, is composed of WinCC monitoring unit, S7-300 master station and S7-200 slave station, which could realize the function of automatic controlling and configuration monitoring for the whole production process of raw materials outputting, materials testing, sorting, CNC machining, Painting and Drying, assembling, color detecting, waste and parts putting in storage. And the process of design is from easy to difficult and then gradually thorough. First, the design scheme was proposed for each slave station, which could achieve reliable and stable operation under the control of independent PLC. Then, the master and slave station were connected through the PROFIBUS to form field control network, and the system hardware was configured by the STEP7 software to realize network communication, and the control program of master and slave station was edited to realize continuous control of the whole production process. Finally, the purpose of the production process on-site monitoring was achieved by adopting the mode of WinCC configuration software combined with PC, establishing communication connection between WinCC configuration software and master station controller, designing monitoring elements of the configuration interface, dynamically displaying these elements according to the actual situation, and diagnosing the state of every slave station by the function block FB125.The industrial production type of FMS was taken as a model in this system, which was blended in the mainstream technologies and make the production process trough out the teaching. And it will play a very important role in the personnel training for FMC in domestic universities.
