Sinopec Anqing Company has a 70,000 t/y acrylic fiber plant, the former control system has some problems such as the closed communication, obsolete equipment, frequent malfunction and has no PC station to stakeout the circs of the field production. So a control system of PLC based on PROFIBUS-DP is designed to solve these problems. Based on these, this paper introduces the method of designing a acrylic fiber plant control system based on PROFIBUS-DP, introduces the crafts of acrylic fiber, analyses the network framework and electrical system, expounds the system's control software includes WinCC software and STEP 7 software, and finally expatiates the method of anti-disturbance .The first step of the project is rebuilding the control system of 2# product line. The rebuilt control system of 2# product line has one PLC control station, seventeen invert slave stations and four ET200M slave stations. They are connected together through 2# PROFIBUS-DP, and 7# PROFIBUS-DP connects the PLC station of 2# product line and standby PLC station. At this rate, a new control system based on PROFIBUS-DP is built. Additionally, this control system is easily extensible. It can not only breadthwise extend to other product lines, but also lengthways extend to manage layer. In this way, the design is prepared for realizing a integrative Management-control system. From the process of debugging and producing in recent months, new control system runs stably, and production quality is improved. All of these prove that the design, installation and debugging of the new acrylic fiber plant control system based on PROFIBUS-DP is successful.
