Safe and high-speed unified wired network technology is the future direction of the development of home networking, it uses the common transmission medium, such as power-line, phone-line, for realizing communication in the family; As the next-generation home networking communication technology standard, the emergence of the ITU-T G.hn standard undoubtedly makes people see the future prospects for the development of home networking; According to the description of G.9960 of G.hn?s physical layer protocol, it supports three common transmission mediums within the home, it uses OFDM technology, QC-LDPC encoding, AES-128bit encryption technology and high bandwidth, and can able to meet the requirements of the home entertainment, high-definition video transmission, fast and secure Internet; the transmission speed of PHY is one Gbps, this speed is 20 times of today?s wireless networking, and 3 times of the wired networking, therefore, the study of hardware based on G.hn standard is of significance to the industry.Firstly, the paper describes the status and trend of G.hn standard, by analysising the architecture of home networking based on G.hn and G.hn transceiver protocol architecture, and we obtain the corresponding protocol model of hardware designs; secondly, we analysis on the principles of the structure and each module of the physical layer protocol of the G.9960, and focus on the research of the physical layer channel coding algorithm,and give the physical layer channel coding scheme; then according to the needs analysising, we use the EP3C80F484 of FPGA devices of Altera company as the baseband processor chips and finish the design of the modem hardware platform scheme, the paper focuses on the realization of the hardware scheme, and complete the printed circuit board of the hardware design. Finally, we complete the debugging and experiment, and then give the corresponding test results.The paper achieves the analysis requirement of the physical layer protocol G.9960, selects the appropriate FPGA device, completes the design of physical layer modulation and demodulation hardware platform and writes the drive programs of main chips, and finish the test works of the hardware board, Realize the hardware platform design, the experimental results show the good performance of the hardware board, which can support the G.hn standard physical layer, and it can support the process telephone line baseband 50MHz of based on G.hn standard.
