The rapid development of information and communication technology is changing people's lives constantly, The application of information and digital technology is increasingly becoming a trend in all areas of society. The concept of digital home and smart home is coming into being, the digital home is illustrated that the public information services are extended to home through the gateway and all kinds of information is connected to digital terminal through the home network to provide families with communication,appliance control,entertainment, home management,security service.The technology of home networking solves the problem of physical interconnection between the various terminals. The technology of home networking is always very active because of the complexity and diversity of family environment, with the application of multimedia services,for example IPTV, in the home, Internet technology in QoS,bandwidth performance and using puts forward higher requirements.The data terminals which base on HomePNA, MoCA, PLC can not be compatible, and these three protocols have their limitations.In order to unify the interconnect technology of home networking, ITU-T has researched and formulated a new generation home networking protocol named G.hn to ensure that all data terminals can communicate with each other through telephone line,Coaxial cable or power line in family.The thesis introduces the background of subject firstly, then introduces G.hn protocol focusing on internal structure and functional division of MAC layer and gives detail descriptions to main functional blocks of MAC layer, such as MAC data_service module, MAC data_scheduling module, MAC management_service module and MAC data_transceiver module. In designing process of MAC layer, many considerations are involved in division of MAC function and how to let those various modules work correctly. In order to validate the function of MAC, according to structured-design idea, we choose SDL and Telelogic Tau Suite software to refine and implement the modules one by one, and verify the functions of modules with visual simulation tools. Finally, talk about how to implement MAC software system on the target hardware platform.
