The development direction of satalite communication earth station is minizturiza-tion,low power consumption and convnient for performance upgrade.As the satellite communication earth station control system acts as a "brain commander" role in the satellite communication earth station, so the direction of the control system is basically equal to the earth station development.This thesis focuses on how to improve the performance of original control system of satellite communication earth station.Original control system adopts a form of MCU + number of discrete functional modules that is adopted by the majority of domestic and international earth station control system, but this form of circuit has many shortcomings,for example,bulky,high power consumption,easily copied,circuit upgrades difficult ect.With the continuous development of programmable logic technology, FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) has been widely used in various fields, FPGA chip contains more abundant resources, can achieve more and more powerful functions, adopt FPGA in the electronic circuit design is more and more important.This paper focuses on using FPGA to replace the network selection module circuit,serial ports selection module circuit,drive circuit of polarization motor,drive circuit of stepper motor and driver circuit of VGA display of the original control system. FPGA-based control system to some extent can overcome the shortcomings of the original control system.
