This thesis mainly describes the design of the control system of an ARM-basedearth station for satellite communication on ship. This system is based on AtmelAT91SAM9G45,which is produced by shenzhen TianMo technology co., LTD. Withsome other peripheral circuit, such as MAX125AEAX, M82C55A and so on,wedesigned a new circuit with the function of searching and tracking satellite.In this waywe have upgraded the system of the existing satellite communication earth station.The innovation of this thesis is using the extensibility of ARM to integrate withsome special devices in the satellite communication system. Meanwhile, we modifiedthe original kenel of Linux2.6.30, deleted the SPI, MCI drivers, transplanted somedrivers like serial port, USB port, LCD, PWM and RTC driver, and designed somedrivers for MAX125AEAX, M82C55A etc. As a result, this system make it possiblefor remote maneuverability and the portability of the software, meanwhile,itsimplifies the operation and offers convenience for the users.
