There are three mobile communication operators in China, i.e. China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom. Each of them is building its own 3G network. Outdoor signal coverage is provided by their respective base stations and indoor signal coverage is solved by traditional indoor coverage systems. With the emergence of increasingly serious overlapped construction situation incurred by independent building its own coverage system by each operator, a series of problems such as wiring routing, power supply usage, antenna installation and property management has occurred and leads to intensive inconsistency and interest conflicts.Achieving wide-area coverage is one of the development goals of mobile communication networks, but simply pursuit of this goal is far from being able to meet business needs. Usually the distribution density of indoor users is more than twice the outdoor users and high-value business customers are mainly located indoors. The indoor area with standard signal quality is far below the coverage target. Therefore the indoor coverage has great space of development. Considering the importance of indoor coverage to the 3G service development and its critical problems, the thesis has made study on indoor coverage of mobile communication networks. A new solution scheme is designed based on the comparison of existing indoor coverage scheme with multiplexed distribution system. The technical solution scheme includes the requirement planning, process design, cost control and investment returns improvement as well as the complement and coexistence of multiple wireless networks. Finally, taking Huangduguoji indoor multi-system multiplexed coverage as an example, a concrete design scheme and its optimization is provided.Through the discussion of a case study on indoor multi-system multiplexed coverage, a practical engineering model is worked out and exhibits itself as a reference method for the similar types of engineering design.
