Research On TD-SCDMA Indoor Coverage System Plan&Design And Optimization

TD-SCDMA(Time Division-Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access),proposed by Chinese government and approved by the International Telecommunication Union(ITU) as one of the three principal 3G mobile telecommunication standards,is the first 3rd generation telecommunication with its research and development mainly led by Chinese industries as well as its intellectual property rights in Chinese enterprises.As it became a domestic commercial network,TD-SCDMA gained more and more attention.Compared to 2G network,the main advantage of TD-SCDMA network is that,it can afford high speed data and multimedia services,most of which occur indoor. It is predicted that, 70 percent of the TD service will be occured indoor,90 percent of which is data services.Therefore,indoor coverage will be the focus of TD-SCDMA network,and it is essential to study the indoor coverage of TD-SCDMA.This article firstly introduces the state of TD-SCDMA,followed by a brief introduction of the main technical characteristics of TD-SCDMA and TD-HSDPA,which is the advanced technology of TD-SCDMA.Then the circumstance and essentiality of indoor TD coverage Plan & Optimization are presented.The second part of this article presented the whole idea and process of TD indoor coverage plan and design. Then several aspects of the plan and design were discussed in detail,especially the capability estimation, timeslot configuration,carrier frequency etc.Current network configuration of some northern metropolis is introduced as an example.At present,there is no uniform estimation system or standard,so in third part of this paper,a recommended estimation system was proposed,from the user experience point of view. Followed by the detail introduction of every test procedure.These estimation processes are the basis of optimization.Then with a great deal of TD-SCDMA indoor coverage test and experiment,the present indoor network quality was analyzed.It also lists some problems of indoor coverage that need to be solved.Besides,an analysis method for the utilization efficiency of TD-SCDMA indoor network was proposed as another reference for future optimization. This paper discussed the main optimization method for the representative indoor coverage problems such as coverage optimization, capacity optimization,and handover optimization.In the last part of this paper,the main similarities and differences of GSM and TD-SCDMA plan and optimization was discussed,as well as the comparison of WCDMA and TD-SCDMA.
