Comprehensive Design Website Design Based On Information Architecture

In the age of web 2.0, website becomes much more comprehensive. On the one hand, websites based on web 1.0 integrate multi-kinds of websites, so they can provide much more service and functions, and the lifetime of these websites can be prolonged; On the other hand, in virtue of web 2.0, new kinds of websites have multi-kinds of peculiarity and new kinds of profit model, and platforms for experience exchange also appear. In such a background, bourn between different kind websites become much fuzzier, many websites provide much more functions and service, while some websites retrogress and abandoned by users. How to improve the efficiency and good user experience in the process of build and rebuild comprehensive websites becomes the primary question website designer must consider carefully.In chapter three, the author referred to the theory of website classification advanced by American scholar Russ Unger and Carolyn Chandler,absorbed the Washington university professor James A. Landay and Carnegie Mellon University professor Jason I. Hong' understanding and recognition on website interaction design, then concluded and analyzed the features of seven kinds of website, put forward five typical website modules:brand display modu,content module,tasks application module, E-business modules and social networks module, and analyzed the application situation composition,features,contents,design purpose and interaction features of these modules。On the other hand, theory study of information Architecture drops behind the practice, the book of Web Information Architecture which is regarded as the bible of IA has only put forward frame of the composing and flow forward IA. Compared with user experience, theory of interaction design looks as advanced, but the practice and tool drop behind. The author believed that typical website module can service as an assistant tool for information architecture, helping the designer to understand and design the website information architecture. The author combined the typical website module theory and information architecture theory, put the typical website module in the website information architecture in the layout of information architecture structure system,label system,navigation system and search system. This can help the designer to understand and program the website goals and tasks, accelerate the determination and decomposition of subtasks. The author also combined appropriate modules, combined the website organization system and website module distribution,deconstruct of subtasks, designed the website and navigation organization, at the same time, based on good understanding of the typical website module, set up the website label system, and guide the scheme task of information architecture.In the research stage of information architecture, the theory of typical module works as a tool to tidy up and analyze the website goal, guiding the designer to understand and scheme the comprehend sive website. In the scheme stage of information architecture, this theory is directly used in the plan of website frame, it works as a bridge between the deconstruction and combination, and it is used in the organization system construction of comprehensive website. In chapter 8, as an example of comprehensive website, fengguo website was redesigned by using typical website module theory.In this paper, the author used the methods of literature research, descriptive research method, qualitative analysis method, observation method and case analysis method to analyze the website goals and simplified them into different modules. In practical design, according to the design requirement of comprehensive website, use the idea of "modules +modules"; choose different modules to combine together. In this process, those conclusions about website content and interaction mode can be used directly.
