LED lighting obtains more and more widespread application as one kind of new lighting source, because of its high luminous efficiency, small volume, less contamination, fast response time, high reliability, convenient regulation, power consumption as much as 1/5 of the traditional light bulb and service life as long as dozens of times traditional light bulb, in recent years, become one of the most promising technologies in the world. So research work aimed at designing the appropriate Switch Mode Power Supply which used in LED lighting.First, the LED lighting merit and the applications at present were introduced, as well as LED lighting bright prospects. Analyzed the characteristics of LED. introduced different types of LED's voltage and current when LED normal working.LED needs constant-current driver, and there are many ways to achieve constant-current driver. Through analyzing DC-DC converter and principle of working, the methods of controling duty cycle and current feedback circuit were used to help traditional circuit to achieve the function of constant-current, which increased the cost-effective ratio of Switch Mode Power Supply.Based on the analyzed the principle of Buck circuit, waveform, and passive power factor correction circuit, designed the efficient constant-current Switch Mode Power Supply that used less components, cost lower and could output 16 watt.Researched the principle of Buck-Boost circuit, high-frequency transformer. Got the flyback transformer calculation method through deriving some formulas.Then, designed clamp circuit, active power factor correction circuit, flyback transformer. And feedback circuit had been analysed as well as simulated by a program PSpice, which helped to optimize the parameters of the circuit.At last, on these basis, designed constant-current LED driver that had active power factor correction circuit, could output 60 watt. Power factor got to 0.97. power efficiency reached to 88%. Meet Energy Star requirements for PF.
