The monitoring alarming system of ship engine room is the important component of shipping. It can monitor centrally the running status of power equipment of shipping instead of marine engine staffs under bad conditions, send out acousto-optic alarming signals and achieve the function of inquiry and printing for important parameters at the same time once the running equipment breaks down. The monitoring alarming system of ship engine room, which is of high degree automation, can assure the power equipment of the ship engine room running safely and effectively, can reduce failure rate and the intensity of labor of marine engine staffs. Many present ship engine room in middle or old age stage, which has been running for over 10 years, have low degree of automation, and the system often appear various failures because of long use, so it need imperative reform.This subject is raised under the background of the reform requirement of some beacon vessel in Qingdao beacon bureau of Tianjin Maritime Safety Administration. The ship has already run over 15 years, so there exists many failures on it. In allusion to the reform requirement of the Qingdao beacon bureau, a reform scheme is worked out and the system design is made, therefore it is realized the function of data acquisition, data display, abnormal alarm, alarm solving, alarm extension, fault print, marine engine log print for the parameters of temperature, pressure, rotational speed of two main engines and three generators in engine room.The system uses special ship sensor, which is installed on the host engine and auxiliary engine of the engine room. It gathers the values of various oil temperature, oil pressure, water temperature, water pressure, funnel temperature, cylinder temperature, etc. And then the values are inputted into the data control unit in terms of current signals, we choose Programmable Logic Controller of Siemens S7-200 series as the data control unit to solve data, judge alarming and communicate with touch screen and computer. And we choose the industry touch screen MP 377 15'Touch of Siemens as the monitoring alarming interface of central control room and use configuration software WinCC flexible 2008 to design UI. We use free port communicating method of PLC to extend the monitoring alarm to the chief engineer room, install a computer station in the chief engineer room and make the monitoring interface with the programming technique of Visual Studio.NET.The new system has been put into use, with stably credible properties. It not only saves fund, but also improves the automation level of ships, thereby sets up a new way for the reform and renovation of the monitoring alarming system of engine rooms of old ships.
