Within China's Auto industry being from mass production to mass customization, make-to-order are becoming more and more prominently. Delivery more satisfied products to customers with faster speed and lower cost has been the key performance indication in Auto industry competition. Modular design, as a design method to meet customer individual demand and to support rapid customization effectively, has been widely used in automotive design. Process design, as a bridge between design and production, is an essential part of enterprise. Product diversification brings a lot of problems and challenges to process design. Nowadays, most company have also started using CAPP (Computer Aided Process Planning) to aid to plan process, in which the information is stored as "Card pattern". In that way, the relation between information has been destroyed. So it can't reflect modular management ideas in the system. The standardization and modularization management of process are still immature, not perfect. Therefore, the current process design and management can not meet the requirements of mass customizationThis topic is mainly in auto assembly process management as the research object, with standard, modular for the leading, and study the principle and method of the modular configuration, aimed at provide a flexible modular configuration management platform for the automotive enterprises. The platform can generate the process project of new product fast, through the establishment and use of generic process module, in order to better meet customer individual demand, to reduce the workload of process designers, to shorten the preparation period of process, to improve quality, to reduce manufacturing cost. This paper is divided into the following sections:The first and second chapter firstly present the background and significance of the research, discuss the research status of the computer aided process planning and process modularization management, then illustrate some related theories and methods, such as modularity, product configuration management, manufacturing data modeling, product family, etc. The third chapter, analyze the present situation of assembly process management in our country automobile, using industrial engineering ideas, analyze the cause of the problem, and put forward the modular management solution:establish the general process data management model for product family (Generic Bill Of Process, GBOP), and apply variable configuration technology, according to customer needs and manufacturing requirements, then generate the process project of product.The fourth chapters analyze the business requirements of the modular configuration management platform, specific design ideas and principles, combined with modern industrial engineering management theory and advanced information management technology to develop the system's overall goals, architecture and functional structure.The fifth chapter, integrated using of structured and object oriented system analysis and design methods, focus on the main module detailed design:the assembly process design, the model of process configuration and the selection process model, mainly including the design content, workflow, interface design, information model analysis, etc.
