With the increasingly competition of hotel industry management, hotel management is facing a more and more serious challenge. Use of computer and Internet technology to develop hotel management information system can not only significantly improve the efficiency of hotel management, but also reduce operating costs and make the resource sharing available. However, almost only the star hotels, chain hotels are using hotel management information system, and the management are still using the traditional hand operation as the"Lejia"hotel involved in this as a non-star hotel, a small non-chain hotels, inns (hereinafter referred to as a small hotel).Take Zhongshan City for example, the proportion of star hotel and chain hotel in all hotels. According to preliminary investigations, there are two main reasons why the remaining small hotels do not use the existing hotel management information system. First, the cost is too high. Second, the function is too much and complicated. For the same hotel as"Lejia"hotel it is not practical in terms of small hotel. Therefore, it is very necessary to design a simple, practical management information system for small hotel.In this thesis, the system is designed for this small hotel. In the preparation stage, in-depth understand of the current hospitality industry status and the degree of hotel information, find the business process differences between star hotels and small hotels, and then collect large amounts of data to provide a solid foundation for designing the hotel management information system. The system demand analysis stage, through the full understanding of similar Zhongshan Roca hotel business processes and operational mode, find out the operation process influence work efficiency link. Through the analysis, according to the actual needs of small hotels, a clear system to achieve the goal. In The overall design phase, the system is developed by using Microsoft Office Access database system and Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 programming language. Function module management subsystem includes guestroom management subsystem, food & beverage management subsystem, the service management subsystem, financial management subsystem, information inquiry subsystem. In Detailed design stage, according to the overall design of the program, separately design each form and each control .Generally it is simple, friendly, good flexibility, safety, stability and so on. In testing phase, functional test and system test are carried out respectively in modules and systems.
