The Design And Implementation Of The Hotel Management System

Since the reform and opening-up to the outside world,the Chinese people's living standards have greatly improved.Therefore,China's hotel industry has become a major industry which has developed rapidly in recent years.With the more rapid development,the upcoming competition is very fierce.For the survival and development under this environment,the enterprises have to improve their management and service,especially pay attention to the daily management playing key roles in the hotel business environment.The fast pace and high quality of modern society has caused the innovation and modernization of hotel industry.Modern Hotels are generally equipped with accommodation,catering,communications,entertainment,culture and other services.The hotel has a large organization,service and huge information,only with the aid of computer system to complete the hotel information management including reception,booking and check-out,user registration,room information maintenance,business statistics etc.Therefore,it can greatly improve work efficiency,reduce management costs,optimize service quality,and effectively improve management level.This research designs the hotel management system according to the characteristics of different hotels.In this design,the background database used by the hotel management system is Microsoft SQL Server 2008,and a top-down object-oriented design method is also cited.On the basis of Java,SQL database,the various data flow diagrams and system flow charts are comprehensively used with various services such as input,inquiry,searching,deleting,updating hotel information.The hotel managers can completely monitor the whole process of the hotel through the database and greatly shorten the time and improve efficiency.There are many shortcomings in the traditional way of bill management,such as low efficiency,poor confidentiality and too many documents,so there are a lot of difficulties in data searching,updating and maintenance,which also increases the workload of managers.This system overcomes some of these disadvantages but becomes faster,more convenient and reliable.With the sustainable growth of the national economy,per capita income continues to rise,more and more people choose to travel for leisure and entertainment,so as to promote the rapid growth of the hotel industry performance.Therefore,under the circumstance of constant rising occupancy volume,the number of room management has rapidly grown but many dealers still use the simple Excel table to do the data recording and processing,which increases the workload and causes lots of inconvenience in the aspects of inquiry or record.If the complex data inquiry and record is implemented through the specialized design software,a large number of reservation information,check-in information,bill checking information and check-out information will be handled by the software system so as to reduce the data processing workload of the hotel,and finally the hotel turnover will therefore increase.Meanwhile,to strengthen the management of the internal staff and customer,I think the development and design of the hotel management system should emphasize on the current problems about hotel management and procedures,realizing the informatization and office automation.How to use advanced management methods to improve hotel management is a topic that hotel managers must pay attention to.Therefore,it is feasible to introduce hotel management system into hotel management.
