With the rapid development of science and technology, especially the electronic, the rapid development of computer technology, the image in the social each field of play a critical role, along with the application of image processing ever-widening, image processing ability the enhancement is also more show is imminent.Based on programmable logic devices PLD design and application of science and technology, we have in-depth each corners of the life and production, but also for the image processing technology provides the hardware based.In order to improve the performance of the image processing system, this thesis applied the FPGA as the image processing system construction. Although today's DSP processors soon, but there are still some application requirements to further improve performance, and with high performance, high precision with FPGA, high level of integration, the advantages of low power consumption, to further perfect its hardware description language program, make the image processing system can upgrade at any time. So, in order to play the unique advantages of the FPGA, based on FPGA digital image processing is already in the field of image processing is a tendency of development.This thesis introduces the structure, design flow FPGA and design method at the same time, the digital image processing method of analysis, the algorithm is introduced, and the application in the gray image, image enhancement and image segmentation problem of image processing, and a modular them one by one the method with the FPGA technology implementation. In the whole system design in the process first the system module partition, mainly into image acquisition module, interface module, control module, etc, and then the VHDL language describe each functional module, and through the IP for the design of the nuclear memory, make whole design efficiency is improved.
