Smart Home Wireless Sensor Network Design And Realization

With the continuous development of technology and people's constant pursuit for home environment, Smart Home is developing rapidly and has huge market potential. Compared with other networking technologies, ZigBee supports a large number of network nodes, consumes less power, costs less and is easy to expand. By using sensors to easily achieve home information, sensor network technology has great advantages in Smart Home industry. So, this paper utilized ZigBee Wireless Sensor Network to form Smart Home system.After the introduction of Sensor technology, Wireless Sensor Network and ZigBee, this paper designed and realized the hardware system of Smart Home Wireless Sensor Network base on C51RF-WSN, including overall structure design and Sink node and Sensor node hardware unit design, beside this, this paper designed the performance of the system. The Smart Home System contained five subsystems:temperature control system, lighting control system, gas leak alarm system, fire alarm system and smoke alarm system. After that, by using C based on IAR software development environment, this paper realized Wireless Sensor Network software and the five subsystems software, including ZigBee Protocol and Sink node and Sensor node Application Layer software.This paper utilized Wireless Sensor Network monitor software and other tools to finish the system test, results showed that:(1) The Wireless Sensor Network was successful built, and it has self-organizing and self-healing ability. Because of the impact of indoor environment, the effective communication distance between two nodes is 10m, and the effective communication data rate is 20-40Kbps.(2) Each subsystem accurately and promptly collected home information, and was able to control LED and buzzer according to the configured threshold.(3) The three alarm subsystems can give effective alarm when gas leaking, fire and smoke happened.According to test results analysis, this paper makes the conclusion that applying the system to practical home environment can get even better results.
